Jawaharlal Nehru memorial Botanical Garden is essentially a garden in Srinagar that was created in the memory of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1969. This garden spread over a massive 80 hectares, encompasses plenty of unique varieties of flora. Big trees to pretty flowering plants, annual as well as season prettify this garden. Handful of Himalayan orchids is worth laying eyes on. Maintained by the Forest Department, this garden on the Zabarwan mountain slope is cover with amazing shades of greens and assortment of blooms almost throughout the year. The well planned garden is divided into four parts according to their purpose with the sections called research section garden, sporting garden, botanical garden and the centre of plant introduction. For taking small breaks while discovering the whole area, one can also enjoy the view of small gardens laid in-between. Another attractive feature in the garden is greenhouse which stands in the middle, housing varieties of orchids. This garden is said to house 1.5 lakh or more ornamental plants. The peaceful surrounding is great for spending some quiet time and clicking some fantastic photos. It could also act as a stress buster for nature lovers and can give the fitness freaks a great chance to walk around amidst plush green nature.
