Suru valley lies low to the western part of Ladakh and is best for tourist mainly around the time of June or July due to climatic reasons. The cold weathered region is mainly an agricultural region, mainly growing two crops a year which are irrigated by water that flows from the glaciers. With an elevation of about 3000 metres at the Himalayan region it provides breath taking views with its wide variety of flowers. The natives, originally Shia, have all converted into Buddhism. It nurtures a plateau region called ‘rangdum’as well as rocky mountains which is a main tourist attraction here. It also happens to be a famous picnoc spot for the locals
