Tso Moriri Lake


This magical and wetland sanctuary, Tso Moriri lake is 250 Km away from Ladakh and 20 to 50 km southest of the elevated valley. This beautiful lake falls within Rupshu Plateau and valley area. To reach this place, you will be needing Rakes of bulldozers as no trains and buses come at this place. Once you reach Korzok village and if you’re willing to go further then you will have to go on foot as vehicles are prohibited after this village. Although it is a beautiful place to be around but still this place is not crowded because of security reasons. If you’re an Indian, then you will not have to get a permission to visit this place. However, foreigners will have to get a permit to visit this place. You must have either a PAN Card or any other ID proof with you as a proof of nationality. This wetland sanctuary supports diverse but very several numbers of globally threatened mammals. “Changpas” the nomadic migratory shepherds use the area if this valley as gazing ground.
